Snowport's Best Hours Are the Ones Built Around a Workday

"Snowport gives people a reason to slow down, explore and spend time together during a busy season," Emily Soukas, Seaport's director of community and partnerships, told Caught in Southie when the 2026 lineup was announced on October 14. The Snowport Holiday Market presented by Visa opens Friday, November 6, at 100 Seaport Boulevard for its sixth season and runs through December 27.

The posted schedule shows a split. On weekends the market leans toward visitors who are planning a trip in, and this year that comes with a paid reserved-entry option. Through December 6, it opens at 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and nearly all of the small, repeatable programming lands on those afternoons. If you live within a few blocks of Harbor Way, the short weekday window is where most of the season happens.

Entry Is Free All Week, and the Weekend Has a Paid Lane

General admission costs nothing seven days a week through a walk-up line. Saturdays and Sundays also have a weekend fast pass, booked through the Seaport Insider app, that reserves an arrival time. It costs $15 per adult, $7 per veteran and $7 per child ages 6 to 17. Children 5 and under are free, and $1 from each ticket goes to Boston XChange.

The fast pass is sold for Saturday and Sunday only. Monday through Friday, there is just the free walk-up line.

The hours, as published in the October 14 announcement:

Days Nov 6 – Dec 6 Dec 7 – Dec 27
Monday – Thursday 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Friday 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The market is closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, and on Christmas Day, and it closes at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Weekend hours are longer this year than in past seasons.

What Happens Monday Through Thursday

From November 6 to December 6 the weekday window is five hours, 3 to 8 p.m. The organizers have still placed their recurring free programming inside it:

  1. Monday: Mohegan Music Mondays on The Stage by Mohegan Sun, put together with Berklee College of Music, starting at 5 p.m. each week with emerging Boston-based artists.
  2. Tuesday: a free LEGO make-and-take build at The Creativity Corner by The LEGO Group, while supplies last. The corner also runs drop-in crafts every day, including snow globes, ornament decorating and sensory bins for kids.
  3. Tuesday through Thursday: more live music throughout the season.

The Monday lineup is already set, so you can put dates on the calendar now:

  • November 9: Triinity Lee
  • November 16: Hanna Lauren
  • November 23: Kassidy Collins
  • November 30: Elise Roche
  • December 7: Keeme Tajudeen
  • December 14: Sofia Sunshine
  • December 21: Mia McIntosh

A 5 p.m. set on a Monday fits a walk home from the office. Taken together, the schedule gives nearby households a standing Monday and a standing Tuesday for seven weeks, and none of it needs a ticket.

The Food Is Set Up for Coming Back

A one-time weekend visitor is likely to eat once. The dining side is big enough to work through over several weekday evenings. The outdoor dining area covers 10,000 square feet, with red Adirondack chairs and faux fire pits, and holds 17 food and beverage concepts.

The new name this year is Island Creek, serving hot lobster rolls, oysters, clam chowder and stuffies. Returning and new vendors include:

  • Baked Cheese Haus: Swiss-style raclette
  • Dumpling Daughter: dumplings and baos
  • Cheese Wheel Pastas Boston: pasta spun in Parmesan wheels
  • That Fat Duck: duck fat fries and poutine
  • North East of the Border: seasonal tacos
  • Bocadillos: Latin-style empanadas
  • The Soup Shack: soups from Cheese Louise, which also runs a grilled cheese stand
  • Lakon Paris: French pastries and plated desserts
  • Madrahsi: chai, with three new seasonal flavors
  • The Fat Cactus: hot chocolate with gourmet toppings

Tuscan Kitchen runs the bar program across four themed bars. The Jingle Bar is hung with hundreds of bells, The Dizzy Dreidel is done in bright blues, Betty's Bar is named for the Snowport mascot, and at The Blizzard Bar, in the organizers' words, "snow falls no matter the forecast." Each bar has its own cocktail, such as the Fa La La Betty with Hornitos Reposado, cranberry, blood orange soda and rosemary. The bar program also serves nonalcoholic drinks. The Warming Tent by Bermuda Tourism Authority adds beer-garden-style seating and can be reserved for private or semi-private events, which may suit a small office or building gathering.

On the shopping side there are more than 130 independent vendors. Sixteen percent are new to Snowport and 61 percent are based in New England. New makers this year include Joe's Fresh Fish Prints, Nantucket Perfume Co., Rita's Sauce, ScienceSeeds and Un Pueblo. Seaport by WS is again producing the market with The Makers Show. The Boston Globe also covered the vendor mix and the Island Creek addition when the season was announced.

Curling, Skating and The Current Keep the Same Clock

Around the market, several nearby attractions follow a similar weekday schedule, so a single evening visit can cover more than one.

Snowport Curling Lanes, presented by Mass General Brigham Health Plan, are on Harbor Way next to Taiyaki NYC at 111 Harbor Way. The lanes are free and open from November 6 through February 28, 2027, two months past the market's closing date. Reservations are encouraged through the Seaport Insider app, and lessons are available for first-timers. The lanes are iceless. Once the holiday stalls are packed up in late December, the curling lanes are the Snowport attraction that keeps running.

The Snow Ballers rink at Ballers, 25 Pier 4 Boulevard, opens the first weekend of Snowport. It is an eco-friendly Swiss Glice synthetic surface, not frozen ice, and only hockey skates are allowed. Posted rink hours are Monday through Thursday 3 to 8 p.m., the same as the market's weekday hours in November, plus Friday noon to 9 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for children under 12, rentals included. The rink and Ballers' padel courts first appeared last winter, when Caught in Southie covered the club's debut in December 2025.

Fireside at The Current started earlier than the rest. The seasonal retail pop-ups at 100 Seaport Boulevard opened September 24 and stay through January 31, 2027. Shops include Elli Parr, For Now x Maker Scholar, Morandi, MYKA, NOBULL, Sweetish Fish, Tiny Chaos, Union Square Donuts and WNTR by Bobbles & Lace.

The market closes at 8 on weeknights, which leaves time for a sit-down dinner afterward. Fort Point has two new options this fall. Eater Boston listed Hawksmoor at 15 Necco Street for a September 8 opening, and Boston.com reported that the French Canadian restaurant Celine opened at 324 A Street in late September.

December Opens the Weekday Mornings, Then Adds Big Nights

Starting December 7, the market opens at 11 a.m. Monday through Thursday instead of 3 p.m., which makes lunch-hour and midday visits possible for the last three weeks. The neighborhood's largest one-night events also fall in early December:

Friday, December 4: Light Up Seaport at Seaport Common, 85 Northern Avenue. It is the tenth annual lighting of a 52-foot tree with more than 10,000 lights. Thursday, December 10: Menorah Lighting at One Seaport, 60 Seaport Boulevard. Saturday, December 12, 1 to 4 p.m.: Seaport Holiday Stroll along Harbor Way, starting at the Snowport gondola, with a limited-edition Seaport Stroll Tote while supplies last.

The Snowport Tree Market opens Friday, November 20, at 99 Autumn Lane. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Thursday, December 24, except Thanksgiving. Trees can be ordered online through Snowport Christmas Trees and delivered on a day you choose, so no one has to carry a tree through a lobby. On New Year's Eve, Boston Harbor Now's Ice Sculpture Stroll puts large-scale ice sculptures around the neighborhood for a full day.

Snowport closes on December 27. The curling lanes on Harbor Way stay open through February 28.

Buyers who tour in the Seaport between now and New Year's will walk past Snowport on the way in.
